Ok, I know it's been a while but a lot has been going on! We had a major event in out household, not a happy one either! First of all, everyone is ok, that's is the only good thing to come out of this..... Our house was struck by lightening and we lost everything....I mean everything. No more kid pictures ( or any pictures for that matter). No more scrap room, no more anything. We are living in a rental house while we try to sort out the details with the insurance company, but we expect to be displaced for about a year. The whole house needs to be bulldozed and start all over. I am just dying to get some supplies and craft SOMETHING, but I am trying not to buy too much as we will only have to move it sometime later. Dealing with the insurance company is taking much longer than we anticipated but we feel that we might be getting close, finally. I will check back soon and post about our progress! If I can, I will try to upload some pictures of the house and the damage that was left, but I just got an iPad and I haven't figured out how to work this thing yet! Check back soon.....

The Santa block was given to PJ's teacher for a Christmas gift. She loved it! You may not be able to see the detail of his face, but I inked and emphasized all of his features. The Candy Cane block was designed in DS and layered. The ribbon was half of Minnie Mouses' bow and half of the award ribbon off My Community. (I think?) The ribbon was also alchohol inked for color. I loved the way that both of these came out...

This was a "custom" block that I made for my brother at the request of my sister-in-law. He is a telescope/stargazer cult member and this is the name of a telescope manufacturer. This was done with tissue paper adhered to the front and back of the block, with vinyl cut and layered over the top. The telescope was designed by me using DS. The edges are wrapped with black satin ribbon. He wanted this as a night light and didn't want it too bright. Stargazers are kind of funny about lights from what I understand. Anyway, I hear he liked it!

Glass Blocks

Ok, so I'm a little behind in posting my Christmas projects. I made (and sold) quite a few blocks this year, in addition to helping my friend and neighbor Monique make some for gifts. I am going to post a few, some made by me-some made by "us".....
This block is a different shape, not the ordinary square. Peace was cut using Design Studio, as were the holly/berry combinations. The holly was cut out of white and alchohol inked to make it the color I wanted. (I am limited to the colors of vinyl and I have found that the alchohol inks will allow your to make anything whatever you want!)
Ok, so I haven't been around for a while. Well, almost a year, lol...I'm gonna try to do better.....really.

What's Moo

This was totally scrap-lifted from someone on the cricut messageboard. I made this last year, and while it's long ago been mailed I am glad that I kept a photo...this little cow is so cute and the cowboy hat added just adds to his (or her?) appeal....Cow and hat were both cut with Expressions and using the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge. There is so much adorable stuff on that cart and while I have used it a ton--I have NEVER cut out a paper doll!!! The scalloped square was cut using my nestabilities and with some doodling and inking the edges I think it's a wrap! Enjoy!

Sealed with a Kiss

This card was designed to look like and envelope. I stamped the swirl on the bottom and then cut patterned paper and cardstock like a flap, matted on top of each other. I added a spot of ribbon and a silk flower with an extra large brad. I then stamped the "Sealed with a Kiss" sentiment on the side. I hope you like it!
