Cuttlebug embossing with chalk enhancement

I made both of these cards in much the same way, dry embossed with my Cuttlebug and embossing folders (never can remember the names of those darn folders!). These are just two versions of basically the same card, just done in different colors. I love them both. After the embossing, I dusted the raised edges with chalk to enhance the raised areas. What is nice about working with chalk for this process is that if you make a mistake with chalk, it can be erased with a white eraser. If you tried this proceedure with ink (while it can be done, just not by me apparently...) you almost always have some boo-boo's where the ink get's where you don't intend. While I understand that it's supposed to be a unique project and the little mistakes are what makes it that way....I always see the mistakes and they drive me crazy! Here goes....

Card: End of your rope....

I just love this stamp! I got such a kick out of it when I saw it at the Rubber Stamp Comvention I knew I had to have it....'specially since I'm such a fan of monkies! This was obviously stamped and colored with my Prisma pencils and matted on a card blank...a little ribbon and believe it or not the small charm is made with shrinky dink material. I stamped on it and shrunk it with my heat embossing gun! Thanks for looking...

Thinking of You

This card was much simpler to make than it looks. The patterned paper was matted on a card blank, the edges distressed with ink and the photo corners cut with my Expressions machine using the Jasmine cartridge. The bottom edge of the card was punched using a Fiskars border punch--Viola'!!

Stamps, Stickles and Nesties....

This card was created using Nestabilities Dies, layered and edged with inks. The background of this card was stamped with a versamark pad for an obscure looking background and then I enhanced it "just a bit", LOL with some stickles. This card looked much prettier in person.....thanks for looking!

Lattice card - A different look...

This is another look at the same type of card that I posted previously. Such a different look, I think. This time using regular cardstock and colored embossing powder I am very happy with how this turned out!

Mother-in-Law Mothers' Day Card.

This card was made for my MIL, Joan...she's the best! The card blank was bought at the stamp convention here in town last year. The flower and leave stamps have coordinating punches! These were stamped on vellum, versamark with Ivory embossing powder. Then I punched them with the coordinating punch--man does this make things easy! The only thing I'm not crazy about is vellum adhesive. I have some that is OK, not great though. I could sure use some advice for what others use for vellum. The sentiment was stamped (Michael's dollar bin) and punched with my Marvy giga scallop punch and pop-dotted. This card was so much prettier in person. Thanks for looking!

More Coasters.......

This set was prepared with alcohol inks and then stamped. I just love flourishes!

This set of 4 was also stamped with Staz-on and colored with Prisma's. The background stamp is french script, the gardenia stamp is one of my all time favorites. Katey always tells me, "Not that stamp again"....But, I like it! I did add a little shading around the outside edges and of course the same felt pads. Sorry folks, the following pictures didn't come out too well and I don't know why....enjoy!
